LINGKAR - â€Å"Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence or infirmity†- Preamble to the Constitution of WHO as adopted by the International Health Conference On September 2015, for the first time, world leaders are recognizing the promotion of mental-health and well-being as health priorities with the inclusion of mental health in goal 3 of the Sustainable Development Agenda. With that inclusion, we believe that this will have a positive impact to 450 million people which currently suffer from the condition. Within SDG Goal 3 â€Å"Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, there is one target that are directly related to mental health which is target 3.4: â€Å"By 2030,†¦show more content†¦What’s worse is that ASEAN Countries in general have shown small commitment to mental health (generally only 2% of health spending), and even where â€Å"legislation and policies exist, they are at best , incompletely implemented.† The lack of care not only comes from the government but of the people too. There is a wide tendency to stigmatize and discriminate people with mental illness in Asia. People with mental illness are considered as dangerous and aggressive which in turn increases the social distance. The pathway to care is often shaped by skepticism towards mental health services and the treatments offered. Mental health issues are still somewhat a taboo subject in Asia, and are associated with weakness, guilt, and shame. As a result, the shattered psyches of many are often simply swept in a corner, left to fester. With the increased awareness of recognizing and undertaking mental health problems, and with an ever-growing concern of this problem in our country, Indonesia, and all of ASEAN, team YOUNG PIONEERS realizes that Southeast Asia needs an innovation to promote healthy living especially the psyche. The innovation is called â€Å"LINGKAR† which translates into the word circle in Bahasa Indonesia. Lingkar is a Peer Group Sharing platform that specifically targets employees
